DANCE4LIFE STAGES UNIQUE WORLDWIDE
DANCE
AND LIVE EVENT
Featuring
Loose Cannons / Kutski / Neev / Alex Gaudino / Darude / Metis / Nasha Experience
On Saturday 29th November 55,000 young people around the world will dance together via global satellite to raise awareness for the battle against HIV and AIDS, with Dance4Life.
In the UK, the Dance4Life Event will be held in London’s legendary Ministry of Sound where young ‘Agents of Change’, who have been on Dance4Life’s UK College Tour, will enjoy an impressive line up of DJs, Nike Dance Athletes, Spoken word artists and bands.
The event in London is one of 22 satellite-linked events happening simultaneously across Africa, North and South America and Europe. The global event is a powerful statement to demand the attention of world leaders and their commitment to the UN Millennium Development Goals, as well as highlighting the vital role that young people can play in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Ministry of Sound will be jumping to the sounds of Italo don Alex Gaudino, Finnish Trance sensation Darude, the funk infused Loose Cannons, Radio 1’s newest dance star Kutski, spoken word and hip-hop wonder Metis and Drum and Bassers The Nasha Experience who have all donated their performances to Dance4Life for free. The event will be hosted by Kiss FM’s lunchtime presenter Neev and is open to all students from the Dance 4 Life School Tour, which will visit 30 UK schools and colleges throughout November 2008, free of charge.
The Dance4Life Tour introduces students to the realities of HIV by means of a fully interactive 2-hour workshop including speakers living with HIV from Zambia, Uganda and USA. All students on the Tour learn the Dance4Life ‘drill’- a simple yet effective dance routine replicated all over the world to unite young people, regardless of background or HIV status.
Over 60% of new infections are amongst young people aged 15-24 and Dance4Life offers this most vulnerable group of people the opportunity to speak out against the spread of the virus in a positive, uplifting way.
