Dance 4 Life On The Road

{December 31, 2008}   Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year!

2008 has been a great one for Dance4Life!

We’ve had much success with our Schools Project helping young people learn more about HIV and AIDS in a fun and interactive way. It is possibly the most important part of Dance4Life! Every participating country organises the Schools Project, which is made up of four parts: a visit by the Dance4Life Tour Team, creating Agents of Change, life-skills programmes, and the Dance4Life BIG Event.

And Dance4Life Event was a HUGE success too! So thank you everyone who was involved there!!

We look forward to doing even more amazing things next year and making 2009 a very special year.

{December 28, 2008}   Hope you had a good Christmas!

We had loads of fun and hope you did too! We did so much dancing and all did The Drill on Christmas Day!! Lots of fun!

Now we are looking forward to New Years Eve – Lots of Dancing to be done then! Here we are all going out in our Danc4Life T-shirts we got at the Dance4Life event. This way we hope, as Agents of Change we will spread the word that we are fighting HIV and AIDS!!

If you attended the event, do something amazing and wear yours too on NYE!! Only with postive messages like this can we hope to start beating HIV and AIDs all over the world!

{December 25, 2008}   Merry Christmas

Its the big day so merry christmas everyone!

If you are running out of things to do you can always have some family fun playing the Dance4Life Game!

And enjoy the rest of your day everyone! Eat, drink and be merry – and be sure to Dance4Life!

{December 22, 2008}   Merry Christmas to all

Hello everyone! Dance4Life hopes you all had a lovely weekend (with lots of dancing!) and are looking forward to Christmas this week!

Remember it’s not too late to give a really amazing Christmas present this year – a donation to the Dance4Life charity and help fight HIV and AIDs. We really hope everyone has an amzing Christmas but want to take a minute to think about all the people around the world who certainly won’t because of HIV and AIDs. Let’s make 2009 a breakthrough year towards beating HIV and AIDS.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Love Dance4Life x x x

{December 18, 2008}   Christmas one week and counting

Wow, it seems to have crept on us fast hasnt it?! Dance4Life is very excited about Christmas and hopes that everyone is going to have a great time!

If you havent yet got all your pressies you could always dontate to a charity on somebody’s behalf and be a real Christmas Angel.  Whilst we are full of Christmas cheer (and mince pies!) its a sad fact that every day 6,000 young people are newly infected with the HIV virus. So If you thought it is gonna be a sad Christmas this year because of the credit crunch, please take a minute to think of all the people around the world affected by this issue.

You can donate to Dance4Life on the website on the following link http://www.dance4life.co.uk/4life/donations;  a step towards beating AIDS and HIV could be a truely amazing gift.

Don’t worry if you don’t think you can donate a gift though – just spreading Dance4Life’s message and becoming an agent4change can really help make a difference too. If you sign up you will receive our amazing brand-new agents4change pack, PLUS you’ll also register yourself as an official member of Dance4Life and count towards our target of 1 million people dancing for life to tackle HIV and AIDS. You can sign up for free at http://www.dance4life.co.uk/4life_form_agents4change and together we can make a difference in the new year!!

Dont forget to check out the Dance4Life Game too – Its totally free and should be a real laugh for you and your mates this Christmas! Who can get the best score?!

Hey everybody, whether you made it down to the Dance4Life event or not you will definately want to check out the highlights of the day – find it at the Dance4Life website (www.dance4life.co.uk)

Don’t miss the opportunity to catch some of the best bits from the events held all over the world, including 50,000 young people in 19 countries danced in unity and solidarity as ambassadors for Dance4Life.

The vid will let you catch some of the incredible scenes we made on 29th of November 2008; for example see one of the world’s biggest DJ’s and Dance4Life ambassador Tiesto play, see what Desmond Tutu has to say about it, and of course don’t miss the amazing United Kingdom event held at the Ministry of sound.

You can stream and copy the compilation video of this broadcast by clicking on the image on the right top corner of the Dance4Life Homepage.

Remember

Well as we all know Christmas is fast approaching. Whilst I’m sure we are all really hoping that Santa will be bringing us Guitar Hero World Tour or Rockband it’s clear from the high price these games retail at that Santa has not heard of the credit crunch!

Our solution? The Dance4Life crew suggest you check out the awesome Dance4Life Game available to play FREE on the website! The same principle applies in Guitar Hero etc – you have to hit the right notes at the right time, but you play totally free online. Plus calling all dance music lovers – if you don’t fancy rocking out to the heavier tunes available on the guitar hero game the Dance4Life game feature levels from some of the best DJ’s in the world, like the totally amazing Tiesto!! Plus there is an easy and hard version for all the songs so there really is something for everyone there.

What more could you want this Christmas? Thanks Dance4Life!

{December 15, 2008}   Thanks Dance4Life

Hi there! I just wanted to thank the Dance4Life people for organizing the event at the Ministry of Sound a few weekends ago! I had SOOO much fun – especially when we were all doing The Drill together. I learned it when the Dance4life people came to my school and I learned loads of stuff about HIV and AIDs. Did you know that every day, over 6,000 people between 15-24 years old are infected with HIV/AID!! I just couldn’t believe it, it’s so sad. That’s why I think the work Dance4Life does is so great – we can work towards to making that ZERO people a day if we all become agents4change (sign up here!)

But back to the awesome event – I’d love to hear what other people thought of it. Personally I loved the Stylinquents and their dancing! I wish I could move like them, but I have great fun having a go!! Lol. I really enjoyed hearing all the cool DJ’s like Darude, Alex Gaudino, Kutski play – my mates that didn’t go were well jelous!! If Kutski is playing again anywhere soon I’d love to go again – does anybody know if Kutski is playing anywhere around the London area soon?

I loved being in the Ministry of sound too -I’d never been before and it was well cool. It was great to have the whole club to ourselves and I had a look around everywhere in the club. Got to go there again!
Anyway, just wanted to say how much fun I’d had and thanks to those who made it happen. Keep up the good work guys!!

{December 12, 2008}   Tiesto

Our friends over the waters sure had fun at their Dance4Life event. Tiesto played an amazing set at The Sands in The Netherlands. Of course you’ve heard of Tiesto, but just in case you haven’t, here is a little bit about him…..

Tiesto’s real name is Tijs Verwest and he was born in The Netherlands on 17 January 1969. He has become one of the most world famous people in the trance and electronic dance music scene. In 2001 he released his first solo album called ‘In My Memory’ which gave him many hits that really launched his career.

Throughout the early 2000’s, his popularity rose and he was labelled the world’s no.1 DJ three consecutive times by DJ Magazine from 2002 through to 2004.

In May 2006 Tiesto became the official ambassador for Dance4Life and released a Dance4Life track with Maxi Jazz.

To find out more about Tiesto, visit his website or his My Space page.
