{May 27, 2009}   And the winner is….

The romantic film “Dirty Dancing” has topped our online poll today as Britain’s favourite dance film!

Now we are all happy about the final score as until yesterday everyone here at Dance4Life had different point of views about which film deserved the title…

Dirty Dancing in 1987 was a surprise box-office hit, the soundtrack album was an even bigger success, and nowadays its popularity is continuing to grow.

The unforgettable soundtrack is fantastic, an absolute masterpiece, and we all love a good boogie to it here at Dance4Life.

There are quite a few highly recognizable songs making this soundtrack one of the easiest to sing and to dance along with!

So, well done “Dirty Dancing” the Dance4Life best dance film prize is yours!

We love dancing, we love Dance4Life.

{May 21, 2009}   Shall we Dance (4Life) ?
Yestarday here at Dance4Life we were discussing if Aidan Davis will beat Susan Boyle in Britain's Got Talent -
we can't wait for the final!
We were also talking about Cannes film festival which is on right now in France;
As well as dancing we have a huge passion for dance films.

d4life footsteps

There are several famous titles we all love and we love sharing our favourite's and advising each other about
some little known dance films.
But at the end of the day our main question was: which film deserves the best dance film prize?

So we decided to do a poll!
Please vote now, and the result we be online the last day of the Croisette competition.
We love dancing, we love Dance4Life!

{May 19, 2009}   We have the same passion!

An 11 year old from Birmingham caught our attention on Saturday night on Britain’s got Talent.

His name is Aidan Davis and like us, here a Dance4Life, he has a strong passion for dance.
We can all agree that he is an amazing breakdancer – especially as he has never had dance lessons in his life!

On the Metro front page of yesterday there was a really sad news:
Britain is HIV king of Europe.

The article states:

“Britain has almost twice as many new cases
diagnosed in a year as any other West European county, new figures show.
The record number is 77,000 people with HIV and one in ten of new
diagnoses was among young people.”

If young people are the ones being affected by HIV, they are the ones that need to make a change and take action to push back the virus.

This is why Dance4Life  believes in the huge potential that young people have in the global challenge to tackle HIV.

To make this happen, Dance4Life approaches young people in a way that is appropriate and engaging to them.

The project informs, mobilizes and unifies young people through the use of dance, music, youth icons, encouraging them to learn more about HIV and to become active participants as agents of change in youth awareness, campaigning and fundraising.

Ending the pandemic is only possible if we do it together!

What Dance4Life brings to your school is not a lesson but a really fun experience!

Our Team teaches students important, life-saving information about the HIV virus and how it is transmitted;  about the spread of HIV on both alocal and a global scale; and about the powerful social consequences that stigma and discrimination have on the spread of the virus.
